He has trained and practiced at some of the nation’s most prominent hospitals specializing in transplants, including UCLA, the Cleveland Clinic (where he was a leading transplant surgeon), and Rutgers University. Through this work, Dr. Reino saw the opportunity of tele-ICU medicine to expand critical care in underserved communities, which became the impetus for him to found Intercept Telehealth. He received his BA in biology from Drew University and his MD from Rutgers University.

Prior to joining the Intercept team, David served in CFO roles at healthcare companies in dialysis, diagnostic imaging, and physician practice management. As CFO of Radiology Corporation of America, he helped take the company from start-up to a multi-million dollar enterprise and one of the nation’s leading mobile PET/CT diagnostic companies. David earned his BA degree in business economics and communications at the University of California, Santa Barbara, and an MBA in finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

His primary responsibility is to develop and implement growth strategies for Intercept’s nationwide operations. Previously, Craig was the Senior Vice President of Physician Relations for the Cancer Treatment Centers of America. He served as the Regional Chief Strategy Officer for Tenet Healthcare’s Coastal Division, consisting of 17 hospitals in Florida, Massachusetts and South Carolina. Before that, he was Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Radiology Corporation of America, where he helped grow the company’s business as it transitioned from a start-up to one of the nation’s leading mobile PET/CT diagnostic companies.

Back to TeamIsrael Villanueva, MD, is the Chief Medical Officer for Intercept Telehealth. He is board certified in both internal medicine and critical care medicine and has extensive experience as an internist, hospitalist and intensivist. After receiving his BA degree in biology at Harvard University, Dr. Villanueva earned his MD degree at the NYU School of Medicine and his MBA degree from the University of California, Irvine. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center and his fellowship in critical care medicine at Stanford University. From 2020 until 2023, he served on the Society of Critical Care Medicine’s Tele-Critical Care Committee.

He is a successful entrepreneur with ventures in SUD treatment, digital navigation and guidance systems, hospitality, and adventure travel. Prior to joining the Intercept Telehealth team, Hans served as CEO, President, Chief Innovation Officer, and board member of a Top-100 healthcare marketing agency. He grew the agency from inception to $68MM in revenue, oversaw a sale to Private Equity, and the acquisition of multiple bolt-on assets.

Back to TeamDr. Richard J. Boxer is a clinical professor of Urology at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, a national leader in healthcare policy and an international leader in telemedicine. He is currently an advisor to Intercept Telehealth, offering guidance and expertise in telecritical care best practices. Previously, he was the original Chief Medical Officer of Teladoc, where he created the policies and protocols that remain the standard for the telemedicine industry. Dr. Boxer’s extensive background includes advising the White House, HHS secretaries, senators, representatives, and governors on health policy. He has also served on the Board of the National Institute of Diabetes, Kidney, and Digestive Diseases, and represented the U.S. at the World Health Organization. He was a finalist for Surgeon General under both the Bill Clinton and George W. Bush administrations. He has been published in top newspapers and medical journals and has spoken at various lectures. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin undergraduate and medical schools with high honors and completed his training at UCLA in urology.
