Israel Villanueva, MD, is the Chief Medical Officer for Intercept Telehealth. He is board certified in both internal medicine and critical care medicine and has extensive experience as an internist, hospitalist and intensivist. After receiving his BA degree in biology at Harvard University, Dr. Villanueva earned his MD degree at the NYU School of Medicine and his MBA degree from the University of California, Irvine. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center and his fellowship in critical care medicine at Stanford University. From 2020 until 2023, he served on the Society of Critical Care Medicine’s Tele-Critical Care Committee.
